2016 GB Davis Cup Legacy
The Club was selected to be part of the Great Britain Davis Cup winning Team’s Legacy Program “Tennis For Kids”. After Andy Murray’s heroics of last year that helped his side to bring the Davis Cup trophy home for the first time since 1936 the Lawn Tennis Association was determined to create a lasting legacy. Dawlish Head Coaches Robert and Peter Elver were selected to run two coaching programmes to children aged 5 to 8 years. It was a fantastic opportunity for children who have never played before to have a go, and have a lot of fun, and was completely free as it was funded by the LTA. The children even got to keep their new Davis Cup rackets! The two, six week programmes ran throughout June and July.
